Rawnsley Park Station’s eco-villas have been short listed for
architecture magazine Inside’s 'Idea' awards in the eco
category. Opened in April, the luxurious and environmentally
friendly accommodation is already proving very popular with
travellers, achieving an average occupancy rate of 73 per

The 2006 Sevenhill Clare Valley Riesling has won gold at the prestigious
Royal Adelaide Wine Show. Receiving the award was Sevenhill
winemaker, Liz Heidenreich – the first female winemaker in
the company’s 155-year history. This year, the Royal
Adelaide Wine Show attracted almost 3000 entries from 402
wineries. Sevenhill Cellars, the Clare Valley’s oldest
winery, took out the highly prized ‘JB Macmahon Trophy’
awarded to the Best White Wine under $20.

Adelaide Showground has launched its new name and logo. No longer known
as the “Royal” Adelaide Showground, the venue’s new logo is
a bold contemporary statement that conveys the idea of a
festive hub and a venue full of excitement. With more than

South Australia’s most successful and innovative exporters have been
recognised for excellence at the 2006 Business SA Export
Awards. Kangaroo Island Abalone won the Austrade regional
exporter of the year award, while the award for “excellence
and high achievement in exporting” went to Rising Sun

The Adelaide International Horse Trials will this year welcome E Banc
Trade as the official naming rights sponsor for the event
this month. The E Banc Trade Adelaide International Horse
Trials is the only Olympic standard equestrian event in the
Southern Hemisphere. This year the best young riders from

The Adelaide Showground Farmers Market opened last month, and has
already proved extremely popular. In its first day of
trading alone, the market sold one tonne of meat, poultry
and fish; 320 cartons of Rosie’s Free Range Eggs; 450
Chocolate Truffles hand made by new company Worth the
Truffle; 1800 loaves of bread; 50 dozen Kangaroo Island
oysters; 680 kilos of apples from Ashford Valley Orchards
and 600 kilos of Riverland oranges. This market is held

Rabbit schnitzels, bambini bocconcini and lobster medallions are some of
the stars of this year’s Ninth Annual South Australian
Premier’s Food Awards. Twenty-six finalists have been
selected, with winners to be announced at a gala dinner
hosted by Premier Mike Rann this month. This year’s variety
of finalists reflects the quality and creativity of South
Australian food producers, who export lobster to Dubai, sell
pasta to Italy and produce delicious shiraz-flavoured
chocolate liqueurs.

Hilton Adelaide was this year’s winner of the Minister’s Award for
Excellence for Employers of Australian Apprentices 2006
(Adelaide Region). The awards, now in their sixth year,
recognise businesses for their important work in providing
