3 MOBILE SECOND ASHES TEST MATCH
1 – 5 December
The heat is on for cricket in South Australia! The 2006/07 international summer of cricket promises an exciting battle as Australia fights to regain The Ashes on Australian soil. The highly anticipated Ashes Series comes to Adelaide for the second 3 mobile Ashes Test Match starting 1 December 2006. Tickets for days one to four of the 3 mobile Ashes Test Match at Adelaide Oval have sold out, however there are still tickets available for day five plus the one day international series.

LIGHTS OF LOBETHAL
10 – 31 December
Every December since the mid 1940s, the residents of Lobethal in the Adelaide Hills have been “lighting up” their homes and spreading festive cheer to all who visit. Today more than 90 per cent of the town takes part, with homes, businesses, gardens and streets decorated with thousands of dazzling Christmas lights. This year’s highlight will include flashing reindeers, a living nativity set, and Father Christmas himself.

CAROLS BY CANDLELIGHT
17 December
This is a night of Christmas magic, when Adelaide’s families gather in Elder Park to light a candle and sing along to a program of favourite carols. The concert will feature an amalgamated Adelaide choir and band, as well as TV personalities and celebrities performing songs. Father Christmas will put in a special appearance, and the big finale will be a spectacular fireworks display. Carols by Candlelight is the perfect way to get into the Christmas spirit and treat the kids to a fun night out.

KIA PRO CIRCUIT TOURNAMENT NEXT GENERATION MEMORIAL DRIVE
17 – 22 December
Be there to cheer on Australia’s aspiring elite tennis players as they compete in a series of senior tournaments in the lead up to the Next Generation Adelaide International in January. The KIA Circuit is an integral part of Tennis Australia’s player development program, offering valuable prize money and ranking points to successful tennis players. The tournament will include a men's and women's challenge, premier league matches, Australian Money Tournaments and the Health Partners Open form.

LOXTON CHRISTMAS FESTIVAL
25 November – 31 December
For five colourful weeks, the township of Loxton will come alive with a combination of activities, displays, and Christmas decorations as part of the Loxton Lights Up Festival. Hundreds of visitors will crowd the streets of Loxton to experience the delights of Santa’s Walk, Christmas Wonderland and other lighted displays throughout the township. Entertainment will be provided all weekend, including the final spectacular fireworks display at the end of the event. Don’t miss this much loved Riverland event.

COOPERS 125th BAY SHEFFIELD
27-28 December
This South Australian icon at Glenelg is among the top two events of its kind in Australia. Now in its 120th year, this is two days of great foot racing that peaks with a 10 second, 100 metre dash. Cheer on the competitors, then explore Glenelg’s shops, outdoor markets, cafes and restaurants. Alternatively, bring your bathers and spend some time at Glenelg beach colling down between races.

Mount Gambier Gift Athletic Carnival

After a break of more than 20 years, the Mount Gambier Gift Carnival returned to the South Australian Athletic League circuit in 2001. Since then, it has built a reputation as the biggest race day in the lead up to the Bay Sheffield Carnival, attracting more than 200 athletes from both South Australia and Victoria.

Mount Gambier Gift Athletic Carnival

Strathalbyn Community Street Party and Christmas Pageant

For one weekend in December, the historical township of Strathalbyn will be pumping with live entertainment and a colourful Christmas parade. On Friday night, the Rock Fest will include an exciting lineup of top Australian acts and seven hours of non-stop massive entertainment. On Saturday, the Strathalbyn Christmas Pageant will wind its way through the town, finishing with a guest appearance from Father Christmas, spectacular fireworks and a Christmas carol service.

Sculpture on the Cliffs 2006

The Ashes Exhibition
