Adelaide has been named one of 2007’s top ten holiday
destinations by major UK newspaper, The Daily Telegraph.
Leading British travel writer Graham Boynton called Adelaide
“the ideal holiday destination for 2007”. “In contrast to
stressed-out urban life in Britain, Adelaide is city life as
it should be,” he wrote. Mr Boynton also said Adelaide was
cool enough to be described as the Barcelona of the southern
hemisphere.

For the first time in 82 years, SA’s Banrock Station’s internationally
renowned wetland will dry out the way nature intended – just
like it did for thousands of years before man-made weirs and
locks were installed nearby on the Murray River. The wetland
will be completely dry by mid-March this year, and then
begin to refill naturally in September. The process will be
repeated every two years. Importantly, the initiative will
save crucial Murray River water, as well as improve the
long-term health of the award-winning wetland. The
initiative will allow Banrock Station’s visitors to
experience a true natural wetland cycle.
