ELDERTON WINES CELLAR DOOR
Elderton Wines’ cellar door has had a facelift, making it an even more attractive destination for lovers of fine South Australian wine. Originally the vineyard manager’s cottage, the cellar door building was built more than 100 years ago, and is located in the heart of the famous Barossa wine region. The renovated building retains its historic exterior, but now boasts a sleek and modern interior, where your passionate hosts will guide you through an informative and friendly wine tasting experience. An old fashioned balcony has also been added to the building, where you can sit and sip a glass of famously luscious Elderton red wine while gazing out over the tree lined horizon. Newly crowned as South Australia’s first carbon neutral winery, Elderton is run using environmentally friendly practices by its owners, the Ashmead family.

LOCHNAGAR BAROSSA
While Lochnagar is located in the heart of South Australia’s Barossa wine region, the property is actually named after a Balmoral landmark in northeast Scotland, close to its owner’s residence. This very modern executive home is ideal as corporate accommodation and for group bookings. Lochnagar features all the modern facilities you could ever want, including ensuite bathrooms for each bedroom, a spa, ducted reverse cycle air conditioning, a laundry, a wide screen television with surround sound and a state-of-the-art kitchen with dishwasher. Best of all, there are five winery cellar doors within two kilometres of Lochnagar.

BLUE EMU TOURS
This new company plans tours that don’t rush visitors from one spot to the next. Instead, Blue Emu Tours provides relaxed, comfortable and informative day and half-day tours that allow all the time visitors need to really take in the beauty and unique attractions of South Australia’s Outback. As well as its popular tours of the Flinders Ranges, Blue Emu tour guides can take you to more unusual locations, such as the Andamooka Opalfields and Roxby Downs. The recent rains have transformed this part of the State, filling Lake Mary for the first time in 20 years, and creating a spectacular blooming of wildflowers. Or try something really different and take a Blue Emu Treasure Hunt Metal Detecting Tour. Using the latest metal detectors, you’ll search for lost coins, jewellery and relics in abandoned towns, hotels and locations throughout the Flinders Ranges and Outback.
