SOUTH AUSTRALIAN CARAVAN AND CAMPING SHOW

The South Australian Caravan and Camping Show provides holidaymakers with a fantastic opportunity to see the latest in caravans, motorhomes, campertrailers, other recreational vehicles, four wheel drive vehicles, camping equipment and accessories for their self-drive holidays. Tourism regions from all over Australia will also be in attendance to offer plenty of helpful advice about their destinations. This year, visitors can also see the showcase of outdoor leisure activities that self-drive holidaymakers can enjoy during their travels as part of the Australian Outdoor Adventure Show.

KANGAROO ISLAND COOPERS CUP CARNIVAL 2008

The two-day carnival is Kangaroo Island's premier racing event and the highlight is the Cooper's Kangaroo Island Cup Race day. Enjoy great fashion shows, local food and wine and free entertainment. There will be plenty of action off course with the Kingscote Twilight street party and the Wind Up dinner at the Ozone Seafront Hotel. For three days the party atmosphere in the picturesque seaside town of Kingscote will be electric.

CLIPSAL 500 ADELAIDE

Open your mind and take in some culture, while enjoying the party atmosphere the Adelaide Fringe creates right across the city. Held every two years, the Adelaide Fringe is the second largest fringe festival in the world (after the Edinburgh Fringe). It’s super hip and very funky. Anything goes with performances by independent artists from all over the world: theatre, comedy, dance, visual arts, film, video, music and multi-media shows are all a part of the Fringe party.

COONAWARRA VIGNERONS "CLASSIC CLASH" PETANQUE TOURNAMENT

The sounds of clashing steel balls, screams of delight and the clink of wine glasses will echo around the Coonawarra Township as the 12th Annual 'Coonawarra Vignerons Classic Clash' Petanque tournament is held at the Piste in the Coonawarra Park. The 'Classic Clash' has become a highlight of the national Petanque calendar, with some of Australia's best players coming from Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and the Limestone Coast to compete in this prestigious event. Some of Australia's best wines, made by the local Coonawarra vignerons, will be available for players and spectators to sample over the two days of competition, along with some gourmet delicacies from the Redfingers Cafe. The tournament is open to all standards of Petanque players, and players must register before 9.30am on both days.

FRANCES MUSIC GATHERING 2008

The Frances Music Gathering is an annual festival held in the small village of Frances on the South Australian/Victorian border between Naracoorte and Bordertown. It is the only specialised folk festival in South Australia, and attracts folk musicians, poets, storytellers, dancers and artists to exchange ideas, styles, songs, dances, poetry and visual art encouraging the culture to evolve. Camping is available at the local sports ground and a variety of foods are available throughout the weekend.

The 111th Annual Two Day Show features one of the largest horse jumping competitions in the State, log chopping, sheep shearing, yard dog competitions, Ute Muster, Tractor Pull, and an Exhibition Pavilion filled with local produce, crafts and the Agricultural Bureau display. For the first time, the Angaston show will have two new features, a food fair with local entertainment, and a Car Swap Meet starting at 7am on the Sunday morning.

ELFIN MAGIC: A SPELLBINDING SA SUCCESS STORY

The National Motor Museum is pleased to announce the opening of a new exhibition that centres on a remarkable South Australian Racing Pioneer. Elfin Sports Cars was founded in 1958 in Adelaide by Garrie Cooper. It quickly grew to become an amazing South Australian success story, and an Australian motoring icon.
