Events: This MonthRIVERLAND HARVEST FESTIVAL AND GREAT GRAPE STOMP 4 April 2008 It's that time of the year again - the grapes are off the vines, the vintage has begun, it's time for the Harvest Festival, which promises to be a feast of fun, food and entertainment for the whole family. The grape harvest will be celebrated in authentic style with the evening's main event, The Great Grape Stomp. The action gets fast, furious and even a bit sticky as teams race to fill a bottle of juice from their barrel of grapes in the traditional (barefoot) manner. ADELAIDE CONTEMPORARY MUSIC FESTIVAL 4-6 April 2008 Celebrating new classical music from around the world, this Festival is being presented by Soundstream Contemporary Music Ensemble in association with the Adelaide Festival Centre. The Festival presents a kaleidoscope of new classical music from Australia, Europe and Asia, featuring both works written in the 1950s and premieres by emerging and established Australian and international composers. Comprising three individual concerts, as well as a unique composer forum to be run across three days, the Adelaide Contemporary Music Festival has a strong international focus and brings a unique event to Adelaide. INTERNATIONAL RUGBY SEVENS ADELAIDE 5-6 April 2008 Catch the action of international rugby in Adelaide in 2008 with the world's fastest players competing during two action-packed days. Make sure you're there! For more information click here. LAURA FOLK FAIR 5-6 April 2008 Come to the Laura Folk Fair, an annual two-day festival held in the township of Laura. The main road is closed off from all vehicular traffic and becomes a large mall lined with art, craft, hobby and food stalls. See lead lighting, pottery, fabric, and crafts of many types including patchwork, leather products clothing and more. There will be non-stop entertainment for the whole family across three stages, as well as a twilight outdoor bush dance and fireworks (weather permitting) on the Saturday evening. Fun competitions on Sunday include the great Golden North Ice-cream Eating Competition, which is open to juniors and seniors, and the Digby Carter Whip Cracking Competition.
