Events: Looking Ahead

ADELAIDE BOAT SHOW
17-20 July 2008
The Adelaide Boat Show will feature boating opportunities offered in South Australia with all the popular modern recreational craft on display, together with marine accessories, facilities and equipment. Holiday opportunities and leisure options form an important part of the event. More than 120 exhibitors will be at the show to discuss boating pursuits in South Australia and interactive water sport and angling activities, plus there will be an eco-learning trail for children to enjoy.

RALLY SA
25-27 July 2008

Rev-heads rejoice! Australia's most popular and spectator-friendly round of the Australian Rally Championships is on again amid the vineyards of South Australia's Barossa, Adelaide Hills and Murraylands. It’s three days of spectacular jumps, water crossings and amazing sideways, sliding, flat-out rally action and this year’s race will be all about speed, noise and excitement.

SOUTH AUSTRALIAN LIVING ARTISTS FESTIVAL 2008
1-17 August 2008
Audiences are invited to visit exhibitions that are held across the state in approximately 300 venues featuring up to 1500 artists. Visual art displays and activities involve established and emerging artists in an array of art forms including painting, photography, moving image, sculpture, craft, glass and mixed media. Exhibitions and open studios can be found in metropolitan and regional venues. All SALA activities are free.

BAROSSA GOURMET WEEKEND 2008

The Barossa Gourmet weekend is a fantastic opportunity to indulge in food, wine and music and famous hospitality in the beautiful Barossa. Up to 25 participating wineries provide a range of food options from both Barossa Adelaide restaurants, all accompanied with premium Barossa wines. ROYAL ADELAIDE SHOW
5 – 13 September 2008
The Royal Adelaide Show is South Australia's biggest annual event run by the Royal Agricultural and Horticultural Society of South Australia. The Royal Adelaide Show offers something for everyone, such as food and wine tastings; various entertainment from live bands, dancing, comedy acrobatic; exhibitions and displays; fashion parades; exhibitions, handicraft, showbags; cooking demonstrations, farmyard nursery and animal petting area. This social event allows you to experience the thrill of the carnival rides and enjoy competing in the many sideshow alley games.

BAY TO BIRDWOOD RUN 2008

Thousands of spectators are expected to line the roads of Adelaide and the Adelaide Hills to watch this cavalcade of motoring history drive by. Almost 1500 vintage cars take part in this colourful annual event, which this year features vehicles manufactured prior to 31 December 1955. At the finish line there’s a chance to check out the cars up close, chat to the drivers and enjoy a picnic lunch with a glass of local wine.
